ABNORMAL VODKA (concept name – VERTIKAL VODKA): The World’s First Neckless Bottle // GRAPHIS PRODUCT DESIGN AWARD – BEST OF CATEGORY // Client: ABNORMAL Group, Singapore, Branding and Package Design // NONOBJECT, California

In a saturated market of premium and ultra- premium Vodka brands, we created the next level of experience for consumers by asking provocative questions and taking a novel design approach. Looking at bottle design today, we felt that the ultra-premium vodka beverage category deserved a more progressive design – one that would evoke emotion, push bottle design to the limit, and really stand out on a shelf, yet be cost-efficient and easy to manufacture.
With this in mind, we asked a startling question: Can we make a bottle without a neck? An elegant solution – but will it work? That is where our journey started – and this is the result. Abnormal Vodka, originally entitled Vertikal Vodka, the world’s first neckless bottle. After the premium liquor is gone, an elegant vase remains.
