THE CHALLENGE:
Anchor Bay Technologies came to NONOBJECT to create the next generation of its entry-level model DVDO video processor under the following guidelines: Decrease unit costs and quickly define form factor in order to showcase the product at the upcoming CES.
THE VISION:
Most audiovisual components are soulless metal boxes that are generic in style and out of place in the home environment. For the DVDO Edge NONOBJECT sought to design a product that felt less like an electronic gadget and more like a timeless piece of furniture.
THE SUCCESS:
NONOBJECT worked with Anchor Bay’s internal engineering team and outside manufacturing partner to complete the concept prototypes in time to be shown at CES. We created an elegant, architecturally inspired product enclosure that featured a simplified front panel, reduced indicator light glare, and softer, friendlier surfaces and edges. We delivered a product that harmoniously blends into the contemporary digital home environment and came in on time and on budget.
